Lovers of craft beers and supporters of micro-breweries in the UK and around the world, Alan and Lisa opened their award-winning Crafty Beer Shop in the historic Butcher’s Row in Barnstaple just over a year ago and now offer an impressive range of hundreds of different beers!
Standing out from the crowd and niche in their field, they have already built a reputation for sourcing fabulous tasting products that you simply won’t find anyone else in North Devon. Lisa and Al our the owners and creators of there small independent Crafty Beer Shop. Having identified that there was nowhere to go for a nice craft beer despite the explosion of the craft beer movement, the pair have successfully brought a quirky and delicious selection in store and online. A discovery of personally tasted and rated collection of wonderful beers.
The Ethos is simple - They embrace Micro Brewers the best of the local breweries in the South West and the best of British. Supporting other local businesses is really important to them especially in this current climate.
Recently they have collaborated with Johns Deli in Instow and Appledore and now have two pop up Crafty beer shops so you can enjoy your beers with some lovely produce from the delis. Tasting notes have been added to all the beers so that you can enjoy carefully suggested food parings.
Did you know that they have also collaborated with Buckland Brewers and have brought a range of beers out. The beers are based on characters of 19th century Devon working girls, all feisty strong women of their day and each one has been matched with a beer to suit the character of the girl.
The Crafty Beer shop also stocks a variety of lovely Gins, wines and Spirits too.
The Little Crafty Bar has 2 small taps so you can enjoy a drought beer whilst taking in the array of colorful shelves. They are open later in the week in the evenings and offer cheese and charcutterie boards, it really is a match made in heaven.
